Lambda Chi is a leader in the fight against hazing, and aspires to live up to its saying of
Vir Quisque Vir,
or “Every man a man.” As the first fraternity in the world to abolish the process of pledging, we believe that you will be given a more meaningful and active experience as a new member of Lambda Chi Alpha. Here you do not pledge, you ASSOCIATE . Associate members retain all the rights that Actives have. This means you can vote when facing chapter-wide decisions, you may attend all meetings, and you can wear our letters as soon as you sign your bid!

SOCIAL
Largest fraternity in the Fall of 2008 with 108 members. We offer a fraternity with over 800 initiated brothers from Eastern Illinois to draw upon, with over 265,000 initiated worldwide. Lambda Chi Alpha is the 3rd largest fraternity in the world in terms of members initiated, while being the youngest of the 15 major fraternities. These brothers offer the opportunity to make friends and network worldwide. Lambda Chi is currently ranked #4 on Forbes 500’s list of Best Fraternities for CEO’s.
At EIU, we offer an exciting and exclusive social calendar to our brotherhood. We participate in every sororities philanthropic events each year, as well as putting on our own Watermelon Bust event, which draws every sorority in to have fun and aid the local Food Pantry of Coles County. With countless social events from Barn Dances, Homecoming, Christmas Party, Float Trips, and many more, we provide a great environment to socialize with students on campus.
LEADERSHIP
For the last two years we have held a majority on the Interfraternity Council with 3 Executive members, including last year's IFC President. We are always a leader in Student Government as well with 2007’s Speaker of the Senate being a Lambda Chi. Becoming a leader in Lambda Chi Alpha offers you opportunities that cannot be found anywhere else. Lambda Chi's from Eastern have travelled to conferences in Indianapolis, San Antonio, Memphis, Orlando, and Phoenix in just the last few years alone!
At Lambda Chi, we challenge you to find a brotherhood more dedicated to Faith, Hope, and Brotherly Love than us. Fraternity is all about making bonds that last a lifetime, while doing your part to improve the world around you. Nowhere else will you find a better place to facilitate that belief than with us.
